What is the pulse in the faith world today, Tuesday, June 21, 2022?
We got you…
Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior.
Here are the faith gems we dug up to help you keep your pulse on what’s going on in the body of Christ.
May Jehovah bless you mightily today.
No Place for Islands
Here is today’s devotional – an excerpt from Come before Winter and Share My Hope by Charles R. Swindoll.
Key Scripture – Romans 15:1-7
“Nobody is a whole chain. Each one is a link. But take away one link and the chain is broken.
Should Christians Ever Wear an LGBT+ Pride Patch?
As a firm believer in the concept of ‘wearing your faith’, we have to agree with writer, Patrick Miller here.
We do not need to succumb to fear in taking a stance against representing something in opposition to our faith.
“In today’s cultural environment, I’m surprised not to hear these questions: Why isn’t there an Atheist Day? Or a Jewish Day? Or a Muslim Day? None of those days, to my knowledge, exist in Major League Baseball (MLB). But there is a time dedicated to celebrating a non-religious minority: LGBT+ Pride Night.”
Should You Put Off Getting Married To Get An Education?
In The Gospel Coalition’s African edition, Mwansa Mwebe tackles this question.
It is really helpful for us to see things through the lens of different believers from different cultures.
“Marriage is no longer what you need to be a functioning and fruitful member of society. We’re uncertain of its value and importance.”
Fathers: Raise Your Children with Tenderness
“The command to fathers in Ephesians 6:4 is to “bring them up.” The word translated as “bring them up” means “to nourish, to provide for with tender care.” Tenderness is sensitivity toward others.
Masculine men are tender men. This does not mean they cease being strong with their children; it just means there is a tender side to their strength.”
Immersed into Mission (podcast)
Joe Rigney of desiringgod.org shares his views on why Jesus commands us to baptize.
Listen or read along.
The “Great Commission is grounded in the universal authority and personal presence of Jesus with his people. All authority is his, and he is with us always. And this authority and this presence is what authorizes and enables us to accomplish his mission.”
Summer Solstice Reminds Us of God’s Grace to All
This is today y’all.
“This Tuesday, the sun will hang in the sky over the Northern Hemisphere for what is colloquially known as the “longest day of the year.” In reality, the sun’s position will be no different than usual, but our perception of it will be different owing to the earth’s tilt on its axis as it orbits the sun.”
Grateful for this reminder from and sweet article from Hannah Anderson.
