With all that is going on in our world today, the need for believers to stay anchored cannot be understated.
In 2022, the one thing every one of us can relate to is change.
There has been an almost dizzying pace of change causing us to exist in a level of uncertainty we simply are not accustomed to.
Change has become our new normal and this has greatly affected people worldwide.
But we need not be crippled like the rest of the world. We can be truly set apart, resting in the anchor of our faith.
Let us never forget that hope is a person. His name is Jesus.
Practical Tips to Stay Anchored
Prioritize God-Time
Now more than ever, we need to make time to feed on the Word constantly.
Busyness truly ought not to be an excuse for anyone proclaiming to be sold out for Christ.
If we really consider ourselves devout Christ Followers, then we ought to embrace and live out a lifestyle of worship.
No believer must suffer from what many call a ‘dry season’ . This is where they say God is silent.
We cannot partner with this mindset because the Word tells us He will never leave us.
His name, Emmanuel, means ‘God with us’ and this is a truth worth clinging to.
Besides, this ‘desert’ feeling may really be an indication of spiritual apathy rather than God being silent.
We don’t have to limit God-time.
Truth is, we do have busy days.
We can have our calendars and to-do lists so planned out that the preferred 30 mins of quiet time simply cannot fit into our normal waking hours.
In those instances, we still get so much opportunity to worship.
By divorcing the perhaps ideal but still restricting plan to reserve blocks of time for worship, we open ourselves up.
We make room for meaningful worship in pockets of time throughout our day.
It is so important for us to reframe what worship looks like.
True, authentic worship can be incorporated into all our activities.
In fact, we need to dedicate all we do as an act of worship to God. God does not need to be compartmentalized when we can have Him in every single area and in every single activity.
Put Your Phone Down
Yup, you read that right.
It can do us some good to practice mindfulness and intentionally put our devices down.
This break from the constant bombardment of external stimuli will bring us such peace.
God has to be competing with so much just to get our attention.
It ought to be no wonder then that for some of us, He only gets to drop a download in our subconscious while we sleep.
Now we know there are no shortage of reasons (excuses) to stay connected to the digital space.
Some of us have online businesses to keep a breast of.
In this pandemic climate as well, zoom meetings and school sessions rely on virtual connectivity.
Still, one way to stay anchored to Christ is to make room for stillness.
Consider going on some kind of digital fast.
That can look like a full social media fast for a few days or for a set few hours each day.
We can then channel this freed up time into worship.

Every sermon in the series was anointed and impactful. We have included the entire playlist here so that we can all access these teachings in order.
