Faith Pulse

Faith Pulse (June 10)

We are honored to get another opportunity to share the Faith Pulse for today, Friday, June 10, 2022.

All praise be to our Abba Father for sustaining us thus far this week.

Here are the faith gems we have found to bless you.

Why We Feel So Bad About Ourselves | Gregory Dickow (video)

Really grateful for this message. It is timely and convicting.

Pastor Dickow suggests that mass shootings and other such tragedies are a result of lack of human connection.

He says ” I’m not trying to say Christianity is the problem…it’s certainly not. It is the solution, but religion isn’t the solution and most of Christianity is just a fake facade for lack of connection with God”

If you appreciate boldness and authenticity, you will mist certainly love this.

Why the Promise that Jesus Will Build His Church Does Not Mean He Will Necessarily Build My Church

Admittedly, not what many church leaders will want to hear but you just might find yourself in agreement with Benjamin here. He backs his point up well with reasons from the bible as well as instances in church history.

“Our church recently finished preaching through the book of Exodus. In my final sermon, I connected this ending in Exodus with a passage more familiar to us, the promise that Jesus makes in Matthew 16:18 to build his church. “On this rock,” he tells Peter, “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

When to Distrust Your Pastor

Hey hey now…we know this question resonates with so many of us.

Garrett Kell offers 9 signs to watch out for but he smooths it out with pertinent advice to help us navigate this issue.

“When men who are supposed to represent Jesus hurt people under their care, it’s atrocious and disorienting. Whether you’ve been wounded directly or indirectly by such hypocrites, we all need a path forward that avoids forsaking either faith in God or trust in his church.”

Study: Female Songwriters Are Dropping Off the Worship Charts

“According to Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI)—which tracks songs licensed to sing in churches—the last time the top worship song in the country was written by a woman was April 1994. By 2018, only 4 percent of the songs on the CCLI Top 25 were written by women.”

We are really curious to know what you think about this.

Does it surprise you and do you think it matters in the grand scale of things?

7 Principles to Prepare Your Church for an Active Shooter

How absolutely heartbreaking is it that this has to be a thing for us today?

Sighs..

While it was a bit disappointing to see that that this writer neglected (for whatever reason) to also mention the recent atrocity of the church-massacre  in Nigeria, we are grateful for his proactive solutions.

“Develop plans for active shooters just as you would for other horrible events you hope would never happen in your church. A good plan executed imperfectly almost certainly has better results than no plan at all.”

Becoming a Christian Doesn’t Mean You’ll Never Struggle (video)

Former lesbian and now masterful bible teacher, author, poet and rapper, Jackie Hill Perry joins Matt and Laurie Crouch on TBN’s Praise to discuss that your desires are not your identity.

“God makes us new people and even in us being new people, we still have the same

body; therefore we have the same struggles, the same temptations. But now,we have a spirit that fills us with power that is able to help us to defeat and fight those things that we are tempted to leave God for.”

Jackie is always passionate about imploring us to die to flesh and instead to go all in for Christ.

The ONE Thing that has LEVELED UP my Prayer Life (video)

Faith Vlogger, Melody Alisa shares her one practical tip for seeing great results in our prayer life.

This is a fairly short video and even for those who already knew this tip, Melody manages to inspire us.

We love practical tips here at Stating Faith and you for sure will appreciate this too.
