We are honored to get another opportunity to share today’s Faith Pulse – June 13, 2022
See our last Friday’s Faith Pulse.
Greetings in the mighty and matchless name of Yahweh.
We pray you’ve had a restful weekend.
Here are some faith gems to inspire you as you kick off your week.
Insight for Today
Pastor Chuck Swindoll covers the topic of ‘Suspicion’ in today’s devotional.
“If the truth were known, there’s a secret “detective spirit” in most of us. With the best of the paperback and television detectives, we vicariously probe for motives, analyze the evidence, and ponder the killer’s next move. Our curiosity forces us to investigate things that are just slightly irregular.”
Explore the Book of Nehemiah with Dr. Tony Evans
Need help to comb through the book of Nehemiah?
“Nearly everyone, in some area of their life, takes a leadership role. That’s why learning to be a strong leader is important for us all. The book of Nehemiah provides us with one of the clearest biblical examples of what leadership looks like when it is properly dedicated to fulfilling God’s kingdom.”
Seven Principles for Cultivating a Christian Posture toward the World
“Tim Keller recently tweeted about abortion and politics, then James Wood wrote a piece for First Things respectfully critiquing Keller’s approach to politics and cultural engagement, which prompted David French to defend Keller and critique Wood. By now, someone has probably offered an article criticizing them all.”
Kevin De Young takes a different approach by focusing on how as Christians, we can positively effect change in this hostile world.
Prophetic Word for June 2022
Jamie brings us prophecy for the month of June.
“Friend, does your life feel like it is spinning out of control? If so, know that the Lord has comfort and help for you in this month of June.”
Can a Person Who Practices Homosexuality Be a Christian?
For some of us, this is a clear cut question…but is it?
Eric C. Redmond tackles this controversial question:
“Well, I think I would, first starting out by saying, when we’re called upon to make judgments like that as believers, we have to take a stance of humility, recognizing that each one of us has failures, our faults, we have our own depravity within. We’re never saying that we sit better or higher or more righteous than anyone before God. “
10 Things Those in the Flesh Resent
“It’s not just that believers and unbelievers think in different ways. Rather, it’s that spiritually-minded Christians and carnally-minded church members (let’s assume they are believers, but it’s hard to know) also act and value in opposite ways.”
Joe McKeever writes a rather impressive article exploring those reasons that unbelievers have tension with the Word.
Holy Fire in New Covenant Worship
Were you aware of the concepts of regulative and normative worship and the tension between the two?
This article seeks to shed light on these two opposing approaches to worship.
“Simply put, when it comes to the question of what we may do in corporate worship, the regulative principle says to only do that which God’s Word expressly commands. The normative principle says we should avoid what God’s Word expressly forbids.”
Faith Pulse on Music
Here are the gems that popped up over the weekend.
We have a mixture of sweet, soothing ballads and a few groovy ones to add to our worship playlists.
You decide of course.
Alleluia + Awesome God – Chris Quilala & Zahriya Zachary | Moment
This is a soul-feeding video of spontaneous worship from 2021 that we can be grateful Bethel decided to release now.
Use this to soak in worship to start off your week
Tauren Wells – Up (Official Audio)
This is a cool little bop from Tauren Wells’ new releases.
He dropped several new track late last week by the way, so check them all out.
This one is an anthem…an encouragement not to give up.
Luke November – Revelation (Music Video)
This rap is fire.
Inspired by the book of Revelations, Luke November is coming for them demons.
Definitely check out this banger.
So many power biblical references in this short rap.
My only complaint is he should have found a way to make it longer.
Just Derrick – Comforter (Lofi Remix)
Lofi music tends to be so chill that it works perfectly as ambience music but isn’t necessarily engaging.
This however is soothing but you’re gonna want to learn the lyrics to sing along too.
It’s a cute song about hungering for Holy Spirit.
