It’s the start of a brand new week and we are excited to share today’s Faith Pulse for Monday, June 20.
Wishing you a very blessed and awe-inspiring week.
Here’s what’s pulsing in the faith world.
A Servant’s Rewards – In Touch – June 20
“In His grace, God freely gives salvation to those who believe in Jesus. We cannot earn this gift, nor do we deserve it. Our Father does notice our good works, though. And He promises to reward us according to what we have done for Him.”
Dr. Charles Stanley encourages us to look into our motives for service; remembering that God surely sees it.
10 Lessons from the Most Powerful Female Prophets in the Bible
Grateful for this article on the seldom-mentioned female prophets that are in the Bible.
Still, it is so empowering to know these women went ahead of us and spoke God’s word with power and conviction.
“The 5 prophets whose stories we’ll explore together are ordinary women with extraordinary faith and courage. The 5 prophets whose stories we’ll explore together are ordinary women with extraordinary faith and courage.”
We Must Love God Most to Love Others Best
“There has been another church shooting, this time in the Birmingham, Alabama, area. Two people were killed and another person was injured yesterday evening in an attack at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Vestavia Hills. The suspect, who has not yet been identified publicly, is in custody.”
Not another one!
This article is a call for us to use our power. We can defeat the enemy with love and through prayer; especially praying in our heavenly language.
The Ultimate Remedy for our Insecurities
“We have felt insecurities of various kinds at different points in our lives. For example, we may have felt insecure about our age, body size or shape, height, the pitch of our voice, social status, family, educational background, e.t.c. Insecurity makes us uncertain about ourselves and leads to a lack of confidence. In addition, insecurities cause us to see ourselves in comparison to others and not as who we really are in Christ. “
Indeed, we can give these to the Lord. It never ceases to amaze me how absolutely skillful and efficient the Holy Spirit is in cleansing us when we surrender.
Pride Month Is a Road to Nowhere
Our church doesn’t have a building, so I spend a lot of time working in coffee shops. The month of June transforms my surroundings with rainbows of all kinds (rainbow flags, stickers, mugs, shirts, hair, even froth).
Surrounded by such colorful scenery, I can’t seem to get Talking Heads’s 1985 song “Road to Nowhere” out of my head. It’s a prophetic song that speaks powerfully, albeit unwittingly, to Pride Month. The song, though upbeat and anthemic in tone, is lyrically dire. “We are,” David Byrne sings, “on the road to nowhere.”
We are inclined to agree here at Stating Faith.
Another point we agree with is that ignoring this destructive culture would be quite unloving of us.
War of Words: Where Is the Truth in a War Torn, Social Media Driven World?
“How can we pursue authentic credible information in a world that is constantly bombarding us with fake news?” asks Joanna Dhanabalan in this recent article from Christianity Today.
I suspect this a question we all ponder to some degree…we surely ought to.
As a content creator, I am with Joanna that we have to be so intentional about how we approach and share our views on these platforms.
Evangelicals Can Agree: We’re Women, not ‘Bodies with Vaginas’
“When the Supreme Court’s draft decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization leaked in early May, a tweeted response from the American Civil Liberties Union had a curious omission: It listed groups the ACLU said would be disproportionately harmed by the end of
Roe v. Wade (1973), but it didn’t mention women.”
It is still appalling to me that this is where we have reached as a society.
