Here are my recommendations of blogs to catch up on in the faith world this week.

Faith Pulse June 27-July 1

Get Wisdom

I am not even going to lie.

This prophetic word gripped me yesterday.

It felt like a finger point…

Don’t mind me hoping it will arrest you too ‘cus’ I need company.

Read today’s prophesy as well

A Spiritual Reboot – Greg Laurie Devotion – July 1, 2022

“When we’re doing the things we always should be doing as Christians—reading the Bible, having a prayer life, being involved in our church, sharing our faith—it fuels the fire of revival and keeps that fire burning. But we when we neglect those things, we begin to fade.”

If this isn’t you, opt for a spiritual reboot today.

Sustain Your Prayer Life with Sleep

Listen to John Piper’s podcast or read along.

You’ll note in my latest blog that we have more than enough examples from Jesus Himself that we need to prioritize our rest in order to answer our calling.

“Sometimes we find it hard to pray because we’re under spiritual attack. And sometimes we find it hard to pray because we lack personal discipline. And in a 1988 sermon, Pastor John explained the physical side of prayerful alertness.”

Is God Present or Absent in Hell?

John Piper answers this submitted question in helpful detail.

“Serious Bible students ask sober questions about hard texts. That’s what I love about this podcast and our listeners. Sober questions about hard texts get asked and answered here.”

Is this a question you’ve grappled with before?

How Social Media Use Can Rival God

By now, we all know that social media can have crippling effects on us.

Still, most of us still spend too much time on it.

Since knowing this rarely pulls us from it, let’s feed on reminders like these about how to honor God with our time.

“We might attempt to build a framework for how to use social media by making a study of negative patterns to avoid. But the Bible reminds us that wisdom begins in a very specific place: with the fear of the Lord (Psalm. 111:10).”

Pro-Life Black Christians Don’t Focus on Abortion Alone

Unavoidably, the experience of black believers vary from that of white Christians.

There are often topical issues in the secular world that is best for us to avoid but with

this issue of Roe vs Wade, it is important for every single one of us to know where we stand.

Read this article to see why the position of blacks is a bit nuanced.

Not a Lack of Food, But a Lack of Hunger

Tim Challies asks some serious questions in this sobering article.

I am inclined to agree with him.

Read all of this fairly short post.

Faith Pulse in Music

You already know I got you in the music department.

Here is the pulse in the world of ‘new’ Christian music.

CalledOut Music – Provider

This new song is so sweet.

It has a beautiful and simple quality to it.

How He Loves – UPPERROOM

This song is not new.

It’s from Crowder but this raw, emotional worship clip is everything.

Listen to it and let the tears flow as you surrender in worship.

The One You Love

These new Maverick City and Kirk Franklin drops are such gems.

Here’s a new one with the anointed voices of Brandon Lake, Dante Bowe and Chandler Moore.

Praise God for this well-needed prison outreach project.

Watch the video and let a tear fall as you see these fellow image-bearers in prison garb worship.

Everyone needs to embrace the truth being sung here.

NEEDTOBREATHE – Who Am I (Lyric Video)

Here’s another song that isn’t new but it was new for me so I am sharing.

I quite like it.

Let me know if you knew this already in the comments please.

Rehmahz – Been You (Feat. Sal Ly)

If this has any more vibes!

Gospel sure has some vibes these days.

And why should it not eh?

Enjoy

I hope you enjoyed this week’s faith pulse.

Til next time.

Stay Blessed!
